Happy Wednesday! This week has felt unreasonably long. Maybe it’s the fact that it gets dark outside before I even leave the office, or maybe it’s because I’m not running this week so the evenings pass more slowly? Whatever it may be, I’m excited for the weekend.
I’m not having a bad week whatsoever, but we’re headed out to the mountains to do trail work on Saturday and I’m hopeful to do some easy running on Sunday! In the last week or so, here’s what I’ve been…
…Planning: To watch Christmas movies! Patrick and I both agreed that it’d be super fun to watch more Christmas movies this year. We may not have a TV, but we do have a projector and a bunch of neutral walls! While we aren’t the type to sit down and watch, well, anything, we were thinking that we’d be more successful if we actually planned out our movies and scheduled time to watch them. I love going to the movie theater, so I am hopeful that we can recreate that fun at home.
…Drinking: Mulled apple cider 🙂 I brought some to work and it was delicious. The office also smelled amazing. I always want mulled cider, but I only need a glass or two!
…Wearing: House slippers. After MMT this year, Erica and Sabrina bought me some slippers from Walmart because I absolutely could not wear real shoes. My feet were so swollen that they barely even fit into what they got me! Fortunately, my feet are normal now (and have been for a while, just for the record) and enjoy the coziness of these slippers every morning.
…Listening to: Rosalia’s new album LUX. I absolutely love this album. Yesterday, Cam released a new album called All Things Light, and I’m enjoying that too. Getting my winter playlists locked and loaded…
…Reading: Still working on Paper Towns and Eyeliner. My hold on The Great Gatsby is ready for pick up at the library! I can’t wait. I picked up a few books at a thrift store and from a free little library when we were in Richmond, so my winter reading list is growing.
…Celebrating: Still bike riding once a week! I’ve been doing Peloton rides on spin bikes over the last few weeks, but that still counts. I am enjoying it, too! I do want to ride my actual bike outside more. I think I need to make a concerted, planned effort in order to make that happen. I might even try riding twice a week soon!
…Thinking About: Visiting an art museum. This has been on my mind for a while but then the government shut down so I couldn’t visit any of the free ones around town! I think I need to just force myself out of the house on a lazy Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
…Excited For: Training to start again! I’ve been taking this week easy and focusing on active recovery, but I am feeling so motivated and excited to start trail running more this winter. I registered for my next race earlier this week. I’m psyched.
Love,
JN
