Today has felt like the most Friday-ey Friday I’ve had in a while. I’m reminded of being in high school, counting down the days until the weekend, psyched about the prospect of a Friday afternoon and few days off school.
Next week is a busy work week so I really focused to get stuff done this week. Patrick has been gone, so my free time at home was spent training, hanging out with Alaska, doing some minor chores, and a lot of deep relaxing. After weeks of travel and stress, I finally feel like I’ve caught up on some sleep. I really needed these last few restful days.
All that to say: I woke up this morning feeling refreshed, excited for the weekend, and generally in a good mood. I found myself noticing small glimmers and joy-bringing moments. I snapped some photos and then, as I scrolled through my camera reel, realized I’ve had many more of these moments throughout the week.

Tried my hand at a homemade iced London Fog after having a delicious one in Austin this weekend. Springy and refreshing!

Our little container garden has been prolific and continues to grow! The little tomatoes straight off the vine are delightful.

Quiet coffee in the mornings with just me and Alaska. Obviously I love having Patrick around, but the quiet is nice too.

This pink blouse I got off of Facebook Marketplace makes me feel pretty and thrifty! I normally think of myself as a Dark Winter, but this is summery and lightweight and was fun to wear today.

Sandwiches for dinner multiple times this week. What can I say?! They’re hearty and feeling, super quick to make, and taste amazing. Sandwiches always taste better when they’ve been cut in half.

Summer flowers; especially when spotted on a run.

Coming across these Bear and Alaska mugshots from the day they were adopted. How cute!!! I can’t get over how much their personalities shine in these photos, even so many years ago.

Our new door decor made by our sweet neighbor. Reminds me that we have a chocolate ice cream base in the freezer that I really ought to spin…
I hope you are having a wonderful Friday. May the weekend ahead be even better!
Love,
JN
