snaps from life

I opened the curtains before I sat down to have lunch on Friday. It was a beautiful and sunny day, I had made a delicious lunch, and I was looking forward to enjoying a break from work. I ended up snapping a photo of my lunch because the light was just right and it was my favorite kind of lunch (aka an elevated version of something you might present to a toddler). This kicked off a weekend of more photos than usual! Sometimes I go weeks without taking more than a few screenshots. I would really like to be better about documenting simple moments in life, so here we are! Please enjoying this short photojournal from the weekend 🙂

Deli meat sandwich with roasted red pepper and tomato soup, sliced apple, orange bell pepper, and honey mustard pretzel sticks. YUM.
An unseasonably warm weekend meant runs in short sleeves and shorts, even if I was sick! Worth it.
Just another snack moment in really great light. I love when the light comes through our kitchen windows like this. Glorious. And these cuties were perfect!
Being sick meant I didn’t sleep well this weekend, so I called upon my trusty sidekick Sleepytime Melatonin tea. Unfortunately, it didn’t work well this time around but I enjoyed the tea-making routine!
Cozy moments on Saturday morning ❤
Ran/walked through Manassas Battlefield for the first time in over a year this weekend. I forgot how enjoyable that loop is when you’re not overly sick of it! The sunshine helped.
I truly had no business being out there trying to run given how bad I felt, but I couldn’t not enjoy the weather!
Lovely.
Patrick had 15 more miles to go, so I enjoyed some decaf iced coffee I had prepped before we left. Remarkably Bright Creatures only gets three stars from me. It was fine but not really… remarkable.
Sleepy lil Alaska on Monday morning 🙂 I can never resist getting a photo of our old lady looking so cute.

I hope you’re having a great week!

Love,

JN
