this week #33

It is a beautiful week here in Virginia! The sun is shining, the temps are just right, and everything’s so green. I love it. Is there anything better than opening up the blinds to a gloriously bright day in the morning?! I think not.

It’s been a very fun week and this weekend should be even more exciting. In between all the running and outdoor hangs, here’s what I’ve been…

…Reading: I’m still working on The Ministry of Time, but I’ve also started The Day the World Stops Shopping by J.B. MacKinnon. I’m only a couple dozen pages in and it is so fascinating! Fortunately nearly all the books in my big stack of library books have been auto-renewed, so I’ve got plenty of time to read them all. This summer I really want to read more classic beach reads (especially by the pool. Ugh, I can’t wait).

…Eating: I am still on my big salad kick! This week I changed up my funky cheese of choice and got gorgonzola (so good). Also, grapes are excellent right now and I’ve been eating through those! I can’t wait for cherry season soon.

…Wearing: SUNSCREEN. Well, not yet, but that’s the plan! I’ve been running on my lunch breaks at the office more recently and I haven’t been great about wearing sunscreen. I don’t have much time to get my run done and shower after, so I needed something that would dry really quickly. After some research, I bought this sun gel to try! I’ll report back.

As I’ve mentioned, I’m not interested in buying random stuff but sunscreen will always be accepted.

…Listening to: There Will Be Time by Baaba Maal and Mumford & Sons and muse by MisterWives. Both are excellent kitchen dancing or running songs. Enjoy!

…Trying: To let my hamstrings rest. I’m skipping my deadlifts at the gym because my hamstrings have just felt so overworked. To the point that I sometimes feel like they could cramp! My PT said that strength is not the issue, so I think I just use my hamstrings in my running more than I realize. Odd, but hopefully they relax soon!

…Thinking About: The Pride & Prejudice movie. Patrick and I saw it last night (both for the first time) and, wow, I get the hype! What a wonderful movie. I need to read the book now! Does that count as a beach read? LOL.

…Excited For: this weekend! We’re having a mini birthday party for Patrick, my dad is coming to town, and we’re going to a baseball game! Good times all around.

I hope you’ve had a great week!

Love,

JN
