I had COVID for a week (would not recommend) and am finally on the mend and tested negative! Wahoo! It was the first time I’d ever had it. My beautiful five year streak was ruined, but I’m glad it wasn’t too bad.
Unfortunately, Patrick caught it from me and hasn’t been feeling great, but I’m hoping our timelines overlapped enough that he’ll be fine shortly too.
A typical day this week looked something like this:
- Wake up after sleeping at least 8.5 hours (sometimes 9-10 hours)
- Drink coffee out on the back patio in the cool, morning air
- Leisurely make breakfast/brunch
- Sit around for a while… read, watch YouTube, maybe do a few chores here and there
- Make lunch
- Desperately try to find something interesting to do because I fam only stare at a screen for so long
- Go on our daily long walk
- Make dinner
- Go to sleep
It was really exhilarating stuff. As I scrolled through my camera roll I noticed that most of my photos this week were of food. LOL. I guess we did spend an inordinate amount of time cooking and eating this week. It was honestly pretty great.
Please enjoys these eats from the week!

If you’re wondering, we’ve also enjoyed lots of fresh produce to, you know, help our immune systems improve. But spending so much time at home with a well-stocked fridge has also led to some pretty great eats.
Here’s to a COVID-free house but lots more good food to come!
Love,
JN
