Hello and happy Thursday! You guys, I have really been slacking on this blog. 2026 is flying by! Normally when I say that it’s because life is passing by without me noticing, but this year has just been so full. Between work and life and training, my days have been so busy and complete.

I’m not complaining. 🙂 Spring is always a slightly chaotic time in our household! Amidst all the fun, here’s what I’ve been…
…Reading: I’ve got a few books in the works and a ginormous stack to get through before they’re due back at the library. Right now I am reading All Fours by Miranda July (it’s really really weird but I can’t look away), Storm in a Teacup: The Physics of Everyday Life by Helen Czerski (unsurprisingly, I am loving this one!), and I am listening to The Bodyguard by Katherine Center.
…Drinking: Bailey’s Irish Cream on ice! LOL. My mom was in town this week so we went to our local Irish pub to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! My mom ordered us Bailey’s. I can see why it would be tasty in hot chocolate or a milkshake. I’ve never had a Guinness but I’d love to try one. I couldn’t bring myself to buy a whole glass just to have a sip and probably hate it.

…Wearing: Winter clothes? Shorts and a t-shirt? You never know these days! In the last two weeks, our weather has swung so violently that I have whiplash. Last week it was in the 80s. I ran in shorts and a short sleeve on Saturday and it felt lovely. I even turned the heater off at home! Lately, it’s been long sleeves and jacket weather again. Spring is wacky.

…Listening to: This coastal jazz summer playlist. Look, the haters will say it’s too soon to be listening to a playlist with summer in the title, but I disagree! This music feels more Parisian anyway. I’m just pretending like I am strolling around an open air market with a delicious snack in hand. Sue me!
…Celebrating: Our new storm door! We’d been talking about this for a year and finally made it happen. I love it. So much more light can stream into the house and Alaska can get an unobstructed view of the world! I love seeing her stand guard.

…Thinking About: This piece from Brendan Leonard. My mom and I were cleaning up the office this weekend and I came across a print out of it. I read it and immediately taped it on the wall over the desk. It may not be summer yet, but brighter, warmer days are coming and I need to get my mindset right.
…Excited For: Project Hail Mary tonight! Patrick finished the book just in time for us to go see it. I read the book back in September and absolutely loved it. I was psyched when I heard a movie was coming out. I’ll hustle home from work on the train and then we’ll head straight there. What a fun Thursday evening!
I hope you are having a wonderful week! May your weekend ahead be warm and sunny and glorious. And, if it’s not, may you feel cozy and well-rested!
Love,
JN
