A few weeks back, in a very roundabout way, I came across this blog and was immediately a fan. Running, cycling, reading, and in DC?! Right up my alley!
Earlier this month, she issued the 16th annual coffeeneuring challenge and I told Patrick we had to participate. Of course, I am capturing all my rides on Strava but I can’t help but blog about it too!
Yesterday, after remembering the challenge was beginning, I immediately planned for Patrick and I to ride to the St. Elmo’s right by our house for a quick and flat afternoon coffeeneuring ride. The challenge has many rules, but it’s important to remember that each ride has to be at least two miles round trip. Since the shop is only .7 miles from our house, we took the scenic route!

I decided to bust out the mountain bike for the first time in a while since the ride was short enough and, with my race being this weekend (!!!), I didn’t want to risk true bike form doing something strange to my body.
They had an autumn spice latte and a pumpkin spice latte on the menu, so we ordered one of each. The pumpkin latte has actual pumpkin puree in it and was not very sweet. I liked it but if you want something more traditionally PSL-like, go for the autumn spice latte.

It was an absolutely beautiful day! We rode over in our regular clothes. We enjoyed our lattes al fresco before heading home to continue additional fall activities.

I am hoping to squeeze in another ride this week before my race! The challenge is that we have to go up and down hills no matter where else we choose to go, and I’m trying to keep my legs as fresh as can be. We will see!
Love,
JN
