Happy Friday! What a weird week. It was a good week all around, and it felt very long, but I also felt like I didn’t have much free time in my days. Especially shocking considering I only ran twice this week!
Yesterday felt so much like a Friday that I think that confused me further when I woke up to work today. Anyway, here’s what I’ve been…
…Reading: Currently still working on The Day the World Stops Shopping and, let me tell you, it’s somewhat of a terrifying read. Things aren’t looking great economically, and the economic situations the author pans out in the book are a bit frightening. That said, it certainly makes me want to buy less anyway!
On a less depressing note, I also started The Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club by Helen Simonson. I have no recollection of how I came across this book or decided to read it, but it’s pleasant so far!
…Eating: Really random stuff! Do you ever have those weeks where your meal plan sort of goes out the window and none of your meals are all that inspiring? Same. This happens when we’re busy or particularly lazy, and it sort of drives me nuts. The weather has also been all over the place, which throws off our grilling plans!

…Wearing: My La Sportiva Prodigios! I finally got to take these on a real trail spin last weekend, and I love them. It’s a good thing, too, since I plan to use them as my secondary pair of shoes for MMT. They don’t feel overly cushiony or uncomfortable at all. They just feel like a solid workhorse pair of trail shoes – exactly what I wanted!

…Listening to: 2000 – 2010s music to build out my emergency MMT playlist! I am looking for songs that I won’t want to skip and full of fun energy. I want this to be my secret weapon for when I am feeling really worn out. Any recommendations?
…Trying: Do my daily yoga/foam rolling earlier in the day. I think part of the reason why I got so lazy with my mobility is because I waited until the last minute before bed. I still did 10 minutes every day (not a second more, though), but I’d be on my phone and would sit in a straddle for a few minutes just because it didn’t require any thought or extra movement. Not exactly the point of this whole effort! This week I’ve been trying to prioritize stretching earlier in the day, and it is helping immensely. I find that I’m a lot more willing to commit to a 20 minute session when I have more time in the day.
…Thinking About: Any pre-MMT errands I need to run. Something that comes to mind? Buy more Fritos.
…Excited For: A repeat answer here… MMT! I am officially on weather watch, even though I know it’s too soon to really know! One moment it says it could be 85 degrees. The next? Maybe 70 degrees and rainy. I guess we’ll find out!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
JN
