Life continues to be busy and I am trying to use any extra time I can to get my life together so that I can sleep as much as possible each night! I do not want to fall off of writing here while I’m managing my time and energy, so I am going to stick with what I know. 😉
Here’s what I’ve been…
…Reading: I’m still working on Project Hail Mary and On the Line. Because I know that Ryan Gosling is playing the main character in the movie version of Project Hail Mary, I am reading the whole thing in his voice and it’s making it super fun! I’m not someone who deeply visualizes characters in a book, but this time is different. I took the VRE into work one day last week and I really enjoyed just getting to read instead of sitting in traffic.
…Eating: On Friday, we had some friends over and we made homemade pizza, this excellent salad, and Negronis! It was a beautiful evening, so we sat outside with the string lights on and it was wonderful. On Sunday, we made a charcuterie board and shared it with neighbors! Boursin cheese is the best.

…Wearing: Literally every single piece of running clothes I own. We keep our dirty workout clothes in a separate laundry bin because they’re too gross to mix with regular clothes, and we run through them much faster than our regular clothes. On Friday I realized I was completely out of running shorts, and it’s honestly kind of fun when that happens. Last night, preparing for the week ahead, Patrick and I put away all of our laundry together.
…Listening to: The soundtrack for It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I’m not sorry.
…Trying: To maximize my sleep! Between work, running, lifting, socializing, and generally existing, I am running out of time in my day. I’m having fun, but I am tired.
…Thinking About: How to meal prep better. Continuing with the theme of “OMG where did all my time go?!” Patrick and I are trying to figure out meals we can make every week that we can do decent prep for on Sundays, without spending too much weekend time in the kitchen. Getting home from work and needing to go do a run, but having nothing ready for dinner?! Recipe for disaster.
…Excited: About running 15 miles on Sunday! Running has not felt as amazing as I’d like it to for the last many weeks (months, maybe?). I had 15 miles on the docket this past Sunday and I was a little nervous because I think it’s the furthest I’ve run since June! I decided to focus on being slow and steady and it was a great time. Beautiful weather, a new-to-me route, and a bunch of fun podcasts = a really pleasant run!

I hope you have a great week!
Love,
JN
